MULTIPLE RETAIL STORES - SSP DELIVERS 62 Mezzanines To 62 Locations Within 3 Days  In late spring 2001, a major building supplier and home improvement center in the Midwest came to Schmidt with a unique situation. The company was in the process of renovating 62 retail stores and needed a new mezzanine at each store for office space. Their requirements were straightforward, until they disclosed their scheduling issues. It turns out that they needed all 62 mezzanines to arrive at 62 different locations over a 3-day period in October. The locations were spread over ten different states from Indiana to North Dakota. The Schmidt staff - engineering, fabrication, packing, and shipping - planned and executed the logistics with great efficiency. Each of the 22 trailers left the Schmidt facility in Souderton, PA loaded with three mezzanines for three different locations based on the most efficient carrier runs. Each of the three mezzanines on each truck was color coded red, white or blue so that all the correct material could be identified and pulled off easily and quickly at the correct location.
